Environmental Impact Statement
The NCHA has published a Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the 11-county NCHA area. The EIS analyzes the "affected environment," that is, the document provides an overview of existing conditions in the 11-county area. The EIS also evaluates the impacts of proposed alternatives and compares the alternatives' impacts against each other. The Draft EIS for the NCHA's Strategic Management Action Plan covers many topics including:
Cultural Resources;
Open Space and Recreational Resources;
Population, Poverty, and other Socioeconomic Demographics;
Natural Resources;
Land Use;
Transportation Infrastructure; and
Visual Resources.
The Draft EIS is available for review at local libraries within the NCHA, as well as the West Virginia State Division of Tourism, the West Virginia State Division of Culture and History, and the NCHA office in Charleston, West Virginia. The following libraries have a copy of the Draft EIS available to the public for review and comment:
